SOCIAL NEWS

Boules night (16th July) reunited us with our instructor, Steve. A patient man, who seemed completely unfazed, indeed unsurprised, we had tottaly forgotten how to play Boules. However, once we had a small inkling, the competitive streak quickly took over. Although the ladies (non playing spectators) seemed to cheer on anyone at anytime.

Next Social event: August is th time for the VMCC West Kent Run ( https://iwkrun.weebly.com/ ) and, as usual the event will culminated on Sunday 2nd Aug, at The Friars, Aylesford with the Display (or public) day. Loads of bikes to see, stalls to buy parphernalier food, drinks and watch riders competing in the display ring.

OWLS will have the marquee, bikes and plenty of committee, members and friends to socialise with. Come along and say "Hi" !

OWLS Reunion 14th June 2026

The preceding week was grey and wet but, as per previous years, the weather cleared and our Reunion day was perfect weather. George took us on some fine roads (sometimes VERY narrow). 38miles in 1hr 30mins, says it all. There were few fast sections. All good fun. Then back to The Weald Memorial hall for an excellent lunch. Jenny, her daughters and Zelder made sure everything was ready, with piping hot quiches, baby spuds and cold buffet.

A really enjoyable day with a good turnout. 15 riders on the road run!! We really needed the drop off system!!

OH ! and Kay Stevens' Birthday. Happy Birthday, Kay.
