February Club Trial results (Youth Novice Route amended)

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Regrettably the Owls Motor Club have had to cancel their round of the NKTC to be held on Saturday 11th March 2023 at Westwood Farm, Weald as the site is waterlogged.  Whist this is manageable for bikes, the parking of vehicles would not be possible and to allow the trial would have damaged the farmers land too much. More rain is forecast for Friday.

Refunds of entry fees will be made via Sport80. Please bear with us as we are asking the ACU to help us action this.

The next OWLS club trial will be on Saturday, 22nd April at Westwood Farm, Weald, starting at 10am.

Renewing ACU Licences

Further to the note in the December Owler, the ACU have now given access to members to use the new online system Sport80.

From the e-mail you should have been sent by the ACU, create a password for the new system and enter it. You can then renew your 2023 Trial Registration Licence. You pay online and receive an email confirming that the ACU has got your money. The Club is then sent an e-mail asking for your membership of the Owls to be confirmed. We are confirming everybody's membership immediately. This is to allow you to enter 2023 trials without delay. The system is clunky but does seem to work.

Road Runs

For those unsure of how to do it, it's quite simple. Download these files, go to your online calendar, choose 'Settings,' then 'Import & Export', choose 'Import', 'Download from your computer', find in your Downloads folder, then 'Add to calendar'.  Then all these dates are included in your calendar.

SAD NEWS

Past member Peter Morgan died peacefully at home following radiotherapy for a brain tumour. Peter was well known for rebuilding Velocettes to a very high standard and for riding Morinis on the road and track.

His funeral is for family and invited guests only.

QUIZ NIGHT

We had a great turnout of about twenty members for our Quiz Night recently and George set us some good questions once again.  The winners were Kevin, Jenny and Harry once again (we will have to handicap them next time!).  It was a very enjoyable evening.  Apologies if I missed anyone out of the photo.

The next social event is Fish & Chip night at the Ightham Club on Thursday, 16th March at 8pm.   Please bring your own cutlery.
